December ENews with Christmas best wishes for you.
Not sure how it happened, or maybe I do, but I was busier this year than the last five. You know how to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans. I told Him it was OK if I had a slow year - NOT.
Then when I sat down to script my narrations for Act II of the 2011 Ft. Lauderdale Christmas Pageant, the cursor on my laptop seemed to blink-you're stumped-you're stumped-you're stumped. You see, for the nineteenth year, I again had the challenge to be fresh, biblical, inspiring and not too long. Personally, I had another challenge-to insure it was God inspired and push the I and my and mine back where
they belong. In reviewing the last dozen scripts it was a warm walk with memories of pageants past. (like the photos with John Abney as Jesus, (1991 - 2011) who's back this year. But scripting for one of the worlds largest Christmas Pageants (two Emmys!) is intimidating. It's tempting to snatch a phrase here or there. To copy and paste from five years ago - who would would notice? Yet, I'd be bored and risk boring the audience into thinking, "where have I heard that?" I wanted to be bold, clever or even brilliant. But kept tripping over the I. My antidote to MEism is to read the Luke's Gospel account and pray for that Holy Spirit download - here are the first few lines spoken at the manger scene-you be the judge:
One night at the cross roads of history.
One last hope from the Creator of the universe to save our souls.
One child destined to die for our sins.
It all began when the Virgin Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit
no-it didn't.
It began one night in the little town of Bethlehem in a borrowed stable
no-it didn't.
It began when wise men gathered to worship their Savior
no-it didn't.
Because, it began at the dawn of time itself
when the lover of our souls would provide a way
for you and me to spend eternity with Him.

Christmas and pageant seemed joined at the hip for me - especially since pageant launched my ministry and sent me to so many places and countless opportunities to share the Christ of Christmas and spread THE Good News dramatically. Another annual event, my sixth book is available for Christmas, and I hope you might think it a good gift for yourself or many of your friends.
Merry Christmas dear ones, and I would love to hear from you -
