Celebrate the 81st Birthday of Bishop Dr. Barbara King | | Bishop Dr. Barbara Lewis King, renowned world Spiritual Leader, will be celebrating her 81st Birthday with Comedian and Entertainer George Wallace.
The affair will be a magnificent evening of live jazz performances, fabulous fare, celebrity appearances and - by request of the Bishop - DANCING!
Spiritual leaders, celebrities, national and international dignitaries throughout the world who have been touched by Bishop King's ministry are expected to attend to show reverence for her great life's work. The guest list includes Dr. Maya Angelou, Rev. Della Reese-Lett, Susan Taylor, C.T. Vivian and Iyanla Vanzant just to name a few of the hundreds that she considers close friends. George Wallace, known as "Mr. Las Vegas", will be making a special trip to Atlanta and is bringing with him Christian Comedian John Gray and a host of others to perform a special extended set for the occasion. The evening will be hosted by Xernona Clayton as the Mistress of Ceremonies.
The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 8:00 pm. Individual tickets are $70 and a table of 8 is $500.

Boyz Rock is Calling all Middle School Boys |
 Middle school boys are invited to learn how to take care of their minds and bodies
Pre-teens and parents today are faced with several health issues. Although you may not hear about them, health issues for boys are just as common as they are for girls. Helping them to get through these tough years is the best way to get them through it. Peer pressure is also a great issue.
On Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Auburn Research Library from 10 a.m. to 2 -p.m.,'Boyz Rock' explores hygiene and mental health issues by explaining how the pre-teen body and mind function and providing an easy to follow system of health. The boys will also learn about proper nutrition. A healthy box lunch and snack package will be given to the young men.
Schools, churches, neighborhood organizations are encouraged to send and bring their middle school boys.

History in the Making: Commemorating the Life and Work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. |
 The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial is the first on the National Mall to honor a man of hope, a man of peace, and a man of color. Located on the Tidal Basin, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial creates a visual line of leadership between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.
On Sunday, August 28, 2011, which is the 48th anniversary of Dr., Kings I Have a Dream speech, the Dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC will take place at 11 a.m. The Dedication promises to be a historic event for the U.S. and nations around the world, as Dr. King's vision and timeless beliefs continue to resonate with people of all lands. World leaders, civil rights pioneers, citizens who remember the hard days of segregation and those leading the next generation closer to Dr. King's dream, will assemble together for the long-awaited celebration and remembrance. |
