We need Volunteers to help get our community to attend the: 

Joint Planning Commission and Environmental Commission Workshop

The line has been drawn in the sand.  On one side: the Oxy Project and the companies that lease and invest in them.  On the opposit side: the citizens/residents of Carson and surrounding areas.

 

We need our Mayor, City Council members, Planning Commission, and the Environmental Commission to be "Of the people, By the people, and For the people of Carson" and not for big oil and its investors.  

 

Please contact City Council, the Planning Commission and the Environmental Commission members and ask them:

  • Where do you stand?
  • Are you for and with the people of Carson or are you with big oil?

Why We Oppose The Oxy Project 

  1. The risk outweighs the reward (The reward goes to Big Oil and its investors)
  2. The risk of contamination to our water supply at a time when California is facing a drought
  3. The foreseeable and unforeseeable accidents and explosions
  4. The already existing contamination of the Carousal, Monterey Pines, Harbor Village communities and the Dominguez Channel
  5. The effects to the peaceful enjoyment of life and the reduction in our property value
