CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS

Trust, Transparency, and Transformation
PA Museums Annual Conference
April 7-9, 2019
Philadelphia, PA

Museums and historical organizations have retained the trust of patrons through thick and thin, and even as public trust in institutions declines across the board, museums are holding their own. Increasing transparency has helped museums tell better stories about themselves and their collections, and change is on the near horizon as a new generation entering the field demands it. Are museums neutral? Can museums, already struggling with a host of development issues, face accessibility, equity, and employment issues?

PA Museums invites you to join us for our 2019 conference to share best practices in advocacy, economic and community development, education, and cultural tourism as well as other areas. We welcome you to submit a session proposal that speaks to our theme of Trust, Transparency, and Transformation.

The deadline to submit proposals is November 2, 2018.

CALL FOR AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Each year, PA Museums recognizes the special achievements of museums and historical organizations in Pennsylvania. This is your invitation to submit a nomination for a project, process, or individual that you know is exemplary.

A PA Museums Special Achievement Award distinguishes your organization by:

• Serving as public recognition of staff or volunteers, and providing an incentive to continue developing new and exciting projects;
• Encouraging your staff to establish and maintain standards of excellence in your institution;
• Providing a vehicle to promote your institution through media news releases, and membership and fundraising campaigns;
• Reinforcing your case for the quality of your programs in grant or sponsorship proposals; and
• Publicly honoring awardees before peers and invited guests at a special awards ceremony during PA Museums’ statewide conference.

Doesn’t your organization deserve to be there when awards are presented in 2019?

The deadline for submitting nominations is November 2, 2018 by 11:59 PM. You can find more information about award categories, eligibility, and how to nominate an institution or individual at our website.
