It's official. Fall is here and the first cool tease just rolled through over the weekend. The fresh weather complements the cool classes, workshops and happenings this October at PAC!
October starts with a fun-filled weekend. We kick off, this Friday, with "First Friday." PAC doors will be open from 5 - 9PM. Bring the kiddos and make a pinch pot bowl for the Meals on Wheels fundraiser, Empty Bowls. On Saturday, from 11-1PM (just after our regular yoga class) Ms. Barbara will be making delicious pumpkin pies with homemade pumpkin pure.
On October 16th, PAC travels over the bridge to again be a part of Realize Bradenton's ArtSlam. Come try your hands at wheel throwing. PAC pottery wheels will be spinning while the community comes alive to celebrate art in the county. The end of the month brings in a family yoga workshop with author and yoga instructor Danielle Palli, an Imagination Journey to India with Laurie Tuttle and more creative crafting with Leah Snyder.
New PAC classes, like Kid's Yoga on Wednesdays, are already receiving rave reviews. Zumba is still sizzling with new classes being added. Home School art classes are now enriching young PAC enthusiasts and Kid's After-school Art Classes continue to bring out creativity and confidence in our wonderfully-fun group of eager artists.
Monday evening's Open Studio is a great opportunity to work on ceramic table decor for Thanks Giving...or get the jump start on thoughtful and affordable, handmade Xmas ornaments and gifts. No experience is necessary to experience a fun, quietly-productive time creating at the PAC.
After reading the below, do have a look at our PAC class calendar for more information about our October happenings and regular classes. Also, don't forget to "Like" us on Facebook for regular updates, news and event pictures. Doing so, like telling your friends about PAC, helps spread the word and keeps good things growing.
As always, PAC invites you to bring a friend, refer a friend or to make new friends this Fall...and thanks you for your inspiring support.

October 10th : Sketchbook Workout: Create an Art Journal Bring a sketchbook (or purchase one in class) and join Wendy in some warm-up exercises. Then explore ways to let drawing chronicle your life. ART after school :: Going Green! with Gretchen Pictured above, Healey and Ryan spray paint recycled coffee tins during ART after school. For the next three weeks, we will continue turning trash into treasure - getting our hands (and minds) busy as we cut, draw and paste...paint, sculpt and craft our way into the wonderful world of "upcycling." It's not only folk artists who use recycled goods to make useful, interesting-looking objects. Contemporary artists also use recycled goods. Famous 20th-century American artists who have incorporated found objects into their art include Louise Nevelson and Robert Rauschenberg. We will continue to learn about these artists and create through inspiration and imagination! ART after school: Thursdays | 3:45 - 5:15PM Pick up at Palmetto Rowlett bus stop available! Three classes remaining. Next class :: POP ART portraits from recycled goods! $15 class & $3 material fee Drop in students welcome, although a call is appreciated. Ages 6 - up.
