PAIR's 2016 Grads in a Class All Their Own

2016 marks a bittersweet milestone for PAIR, as a special class of students heads off to college, many of whom have participated in PAIR since their earliest days in the U.S. as 6th graders at Fondren Middle School and throughout their years at Westbury High School. Though we will miss these students tremendously, we are so proud of their extraordinary accomplishments!
  • 100% of seniors applied to and were accepted to college;
  • 2 students will receive full tuition scholarships; and
  • 11 students will receive support through PAIR's 2016 scholarship partners Caring Friends, Inc. and Holy Child Charity.
Our students put in the hard work necessary for these achievements over many years: learning English; taking challenging courses, exit exams, and SATs; participating in sports and extracurriculars; doing community service; and filling out a plethora of paperwork for college applications, financial aid and scholarships.

During this time, PAIR provided longterm support throughout a critical period in their lives, helping them adapt to life and school in the U.S., plan for their futures, and develop the skills necessary to pursue higher education and employment.

Seeing is truly believing, and this very special class of graduates will continue to inspire our work for years to come If you are similarly inspired, contact Lauren West to learn about fall volunteer opportunities!
