MartinLogan Electromotion ESL X
Introducing the new MartinLogan ESL X loudspeaker! This remarkable performer is the newest member of the MartinLogan family of ESL speakers and is now available for orders.
The ElectroMotion ESL X features a new larger XStat™ electrostatic transducer, with a radiating area over 50in2 larger than the EM-ESL model. Twin 8-inch high-excursion woofers are housed in a non-resonant asymmetrical bass reflex (ported) chamber, in a surprisingly compact enclosure. Woofers have custom engineered high-rigidity paper cones, with extended-throw driver assemblies.
Component elements within the EM-ESL X replicate the design and performance of components used on many of MartinLogan's more expensive loudspeakers, such as custom-wound transformers, air-core coils, large steel laminate inductors, polyester and low DF electrolytic capacitors. Custom 5-way bi-wire binding posts allow for secure wire connections. System Frequency Response is 41-22,000 Hz ±3db. Recommended amplifier power is 20-400 watts per channel. Impedance is rated at 6 ohms (1.6 ohms at 20 kHz); the EM-ESL X is compatible with 4, 6, or 8 ohm rated amplifiers.
A unique XStat™ transducer was developed for the ElectroMotion Series to reduce the gauge thickness of the electrostatic panel's steel stators. The reduced gauge does not alter the performance characteristics of the panel. However, as a natural byproduct of tighter build tolerances, it does increase the visual transparency of the panel. The EM-ESL X's XStat panel is so visually transparent it nearly vanishes when you're sitting and listening.

Stealth CoverArt blends nearly any flat screen display into your client's decor by automatically converting it into a beautifully framed photograph or work of art.
A custom image is printed on graphic arts quality canvas surrounded by a choice of elegant wood molding. When the display is turned on, the Stealth CoverArt canvas automatically rises to reveal the total display screen without any obstruction. When the display is turned off, the canvas automatically lowers to conceal the gray screen.

Anthem MRX520 Receiver & Room Correction
Anthem has created a superb receiver with the build quality of their best products and engineering. That alone would be enough value to command the price of $1399. Add Anthem ARC [Anthem Room Correction] to the price point and the value equation tips tremendously. There have been discussions for years about offering ARC alone for $2500 and more. Here it is in a receiver for $1399!!
What does ARC do?
ARC is a proprietary digital signal processing software that works with a specially-engineered calibration microphone and your PC to quickly and easily optimize audio for your unique listening space. Anthem engineers developed the ARC system while researching how to replicate the audio-lab standard of performance in non-lab environments.
Anthem engineers realized that real world listening experiences had little in common with the controlled environment of the audio lab. That's because even the best loudspeakers are affected by room anomalies like furniture. These obstacles cause standing waves, resonances, and reflections that can color the sound you hear. Imagine the sound waves coming from your speakers as ripples on a water surface. That makes it easy for you to understand how the ripples of sound bounce off any obstruction they encounter. You can immediately see the benefit of removing the obstacles.
ARC digitally compares a room's acoustic signature to that of the lab standard. It measures the response of each speaker relative to the listening area. Then it uses advanced algorithms to eliminate the negative effects of the obstacles in the room, adjusting response and correcting phase effects. When ARC removes the obstacles, what's left is the lab standard performance.
Each MRX520 comes with a complete ARC kit, consisting of software and microphone calibration file from our website, a professional quality mic stand and high quality connectors. It requires a Windows-based laptop computer on a local area network the MRX520 is on. Plug the kit's custom Calibration Microphone into the computer. Place the microphone at each of the listening positions in your clients room (a minimum of five, maximum of ten), and allow ARC to take a sound sample from each location. The proprietary ARC software measures the difference between the speaker's ideal lab-standard response, and their real-world performance in your room. Then, its sophisticated DSP accurately equalizes response and creates intricate crossover curves so that the performance of the speakers in your clients room meets the ideal lab standard!
