Now it's August, the dog days of summer will be coming to an end as kids return to school, traffic gets busier on weekdays, and before we know it, 2016 will be in the past.

However, we still have five good months left in the year and many opportunities for you to be active in PAV and in the parking and transportation industry.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION RESULTS
There were many talented individuals that ran for election to serve a two-year term on the PAV Board of Directors. Re-elected to the Institutional Board seats (representing universities, hospitals, city or county governments, or airports) were: Rob Fries with the City of Virginia Beach, Becca White with the University of Virginia, and Josh Cantor with George Mason University.

Joining the Board as an Institutional member is Bart Neu from the City of Norfolk. The one Corporate seat up for grabs, went to Frank Kollmansperger with Entry Guard Systems who was re-elected. These five Board members will serve until June 2018.

Five Board members whose terms expire in June 2017 were not up for election: Rob Maroney with Laz Parking, Chris Polk with Republic Parking, Justin Nelson with Eastern Virginia Medical School, Lynne Lancaster with the City of Richmond, and Johnnie Hogue with SP+.

PAV would like to thank outgoing board member Mike Frizzell with Old Dominion University for his many years of invaluable and dedicated service to the Board.

ANNUAL WORKSHOP & TRADESHOW
Fall Annual Workshop & Trade Show * December 7-9, 2016
Omni Charlottesville

Registration will open in late August at www.pavonline.org

The Annual Fall PAV Workshop and Tradeshow will be held  December 7-9, 2016 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Charlottesville, VA. We'll be able to hear about the latest in parking and transportation from industry leaders and get to do business with the two dozen plus vendors with tradeshow booths. This workshop is a great opportunity to also have staff that might not be able to attend IPI to become involved in the parking industry and further their professional development.

Call for Presentations:
If you would like to submit a presentation for the Workshop, email the topic, brief overview, objectives, speaker bio and photo in a Word document to Dawn Marti, PAV Administrator

Volunteers: You don't have to be a Board member to volunteer. We would love to have your help on the 2016 Fall Workshop Planning Committee (or anything else with PAV). If you are interested, please let us know!

We look forward to seeing you in Charlottesville this December!

IPI Parking Analytics
How does your parking organization compare with the industry as a whole?

The International Parking Institute (IPI) is leading an effort to collect and study key performance indicators from parking and transportation organizations as a tool for more effective management of limited resources. The targeted, inaugural survey -- released at the 2016 IPI Conference & Expo, May 17-20, Nashville, Tenn. -- captured data from more than 1 million spaces, representing $1.34 billion in revenue (view the snapshot).

IPI is taking the next step to publish benchmarks that can be used to evaluate and compare your parking organization with others in the industry. But we need your help.

IPI has assembled 10 questions that will take less than 10 minutes to answer, and will provide valuable insight into the parking industry.   Add your data to the mix today.  All participants who provide complete surveys will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 American Express gift card!

Your responses are confidential and anonymous.

Start the brief
survey here. Please complete by Friday, August 12.

Look for the results in the series to be released September 2016. Thank you for advancing our understanding of the parking industry!
