Greetings!

PAVE shatters the silence of sexual violence through social awareness, educational outreach, and legislative efforts. By being both prevention and awareness focused, PAVE works on all fronts to end sexual violence affecting men, women and children throughout the globe.

We use art, education and action to challenge cultural norms that encourage violence and ignore the spectrum of sexual abuse.  We create an awareness and response to any injustices victims, survivors and their communities suffer.

"Raising the Volume" - PAVE Ambassador: Leandra Krueger

LeandraOn Valentine's Day of 2006, Leandra was drugged and sexually assaulted by her OB/GYN - a trusted doctor that delivered two of her children. After speaking out and pressing charges, detectives were able to back track assaults perpetrated by the Doctor almost 23 years. Many were silenced! With a successful conviction, Leandra is determined to give a voice and face to this far too often "silent crime."

Taking the Power Back and Raising the Volume...
Vday March
Because she was sexually assaulted on Valentine's Day, she had been triggered by hearts and Vday cards. Bravely, she took ownership over her triggers  and spoke out at a rally working with orgs including Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) on Vday 2011. Passionate to the cause of giving a voice to those who have been silenced by abuse, this typical girl next door turned activist hopes to inspire and empower women/men nationwide to speak out against abuse.

Arts for Awareness events

Artistic Means to Shatter the Silence of Sexual Violence

PAVE is hosting a series of Arts for Awareness events across the country including New York with Rusted Blue, Virginia, and Texas. Combining artists, musicians, advocates and poets, these events can bring a sense of community and empowerment when shattering the silence of sexual violence. PAVE features creative events to engage people in dialogue on the issue of violence and provides an artistic voice to survivors as a means of healing.

Learn more about PAVE's use of art to shatter the silence, watch a clip of the interactive art empowerment campaign The Binding Project. If you are interested in hosting an event in your community, email Info@ShatteringTheSilence.org
