25th Anniversary Celebration


2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the Professional Billiard Instructors Association (formerly called the BCA Instructor Program).

In honor of this silver anniversary, the PBIA is inviting all instructors to attend the BCA Expo, August 2-4, 2017 in Las Vegas.

The PBIA Instructor committee is planning three full days of activities during the BCA Expo specifically designed for billiard instructors. From tips and content from fellow PBIA Instructors to a special PBIA Instructor's only celebration on Thursday, August 3, 2017, you'll gain additional teaching information and have an enjoyable time during this year's BCA Expo.

We are also pleased to announce a PBIA Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 3 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in the Cypress Room (just across from the exhibit hall entrance).  Please plan to participate.

Inaugural PBIA Instructor of the Year Award

During this year's PBIA 25th anniversary celebration at the BCA Expo, we will announce the winner of the inaugural PBIA Instructor of the Year Award.

PBIA Announces Junior Instructional Program

The Billiard Congress of America, Professional Billiard Instructors Association and the Billiard Education Foundation have come together to create the Break and Run Premier Junior Instructional Program to further support the development of competitive junior pool players who are dedicated to making a significant commitment to developing their playing skills.

The Program will:
  • Offer coaching/instruction to youth nationwide.
  • Provide on-going, individualized instruction tailored to junior players at all ages and skill levels.
  • Provide the structured instruction at no cost to junior players who wish to play competitively.
  • Offer support to local coaches and instructors of players who are playing, or wish to play, at a competitive level.
  • Provide training materials, regular feedback and assessments of participant progress.
  • Allow for regular instruction in person or via video exchange, such as Facetime or Skype interaction.
How Do I Get Involved?
PBIA instructors associated with this program do so as a service to the PBIA and in furtherment of the sport. They receive no compensation for their participation. Each instructor will receive training support and materials and must have a verified background check to participate. To join the program, please contact us at [email protected].
