Lieutenant Colonel Missoni, Captain Minnis, 1st Sergeant Esquell, and Lieutenant Colonel Kerrigan (pictured with her son Jonathan) presented a flag to PCA at the end of chapel last Friday. The flag was flown in Bagram, Afghanistan on Christmas Day 2017 to recognize our Lower School students for writing cards and letters of encouragement last October to those deployed there. Last week, three of those who received the letters came back to our school to say "Thank you." Lieutenant Colonel Missoni, one of the men who received PCA letters, gave an emotional speech to the students, reminding them that those small acts of letter writing mean so much to the men and women who are serving overseas. In addition to the flag and certificate which will be on display in the Lower School, PCA was also presented with a book about Afghanistan for the school library.
PCA Places Second at UNH Symposium

This year's Grand Prize Science Fair winners at PCA were David Brackett (junior, pictured to left), Sarah Poole (junior), Sam Stevens (sophomore), and Justin Lahue (senior) with their project entitled "The Effect of Tubercles on the Efficiency and Auditory Output of Wind Turbines."

Last week, David represented his group at UNH and presented their project at the university's Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. Out of 60 posters, PCA's project won second prize! Congratulations to David, Sarah, Sam, and Justin!

David is also currently working on a "WiFi Heatmap" project for PCA. Each year, the Upper School Software Engineering class tackles a software development project which students propose and vote on. This year's class voted for David's WiFi Heatmap project which will produce a graphical view of the campus, showing where most Wifi users are located and provide recommendations on where additional WiFi access points and capacity can be installed.
