In 2018, a major focus for Pierce County Medical Reserve Corps (PCMRC) will be a medical countermeasures exercise. As a key partner in public health, PCMRC will be setting up and managing a medication center in order to replicate and practice our response to a public health emergency.

Public health emergencies can come in a number of forms such as environmental disasters, disease outbreaks like pandemic flu, or even exposure to certain radiological or biological agents.

Such emergencies may require prompt responses including immediate vaccination of the population or medication distribution from medication centers .

This exercise will be a hands-on training experience providing the opportunity to ensure that we are prepared and ready in the event of a real emergency. We encourage everyone to come and take part!
