Online Payment Now Available for Director Credential!
Back by popular demand, early learning professionals are now able to pay for the Director Credential online! This includes the fee for both initial or renewal applications.

The Pennsylvania Director Credential is designed as a standard to measure and validate the abilities and competencies of directors and administrators to manage high quality early childhood and school-age programs.

For more information on the Director Credential and for directions on how to pay online, visit the Director Credential page on the PA Key website .

Email any questions to [email protected] or call 1-800-284-6031 .

Instructors
Awarding ACT 48 Credits
As you may know, Act 48 approval is given to organizations not courses. When you are offering a course through an organization, please let the participants know whether if it is eligible for ACT 48 hours. If you are unsure, please check with the organization.

When receiving a call regarding ACT 48 hours, the PA Key is only able to redirect the caller back to the organization who held the event.

For more information on ACT 48 credits, visit the Pennsylvania Department of Education's website .
Tips for Course Owners
Editing courses
  • A major edit to an existing course, such as changing the hours or CKC areas, will result in a new course and new course number being created. The course will need to go through the approval process again.
  • If you need to make minor edits to an existing course, such as fixing a spelling error or adding additional information, please contact the Registry. This will not create a new or duplicate course.

Duplicate courses
  • Please check your current course list before submitting a new course. We are receiving duplicate course submissions. Remember, once a course is approved, you can schedule events without having to re-enter the course. Details such as date, time, and location are entered when creating an event.
