Dear Marine parents,

The mission of MarineParents.com, Inc., is to provide support, information, and services to Marines and their family members, and create opportunities for the public to support our troops through the organization's outreach programs.

Personal Security (PERSEC) is a very important piece in the Corps, and it is critical that we learn how to safeguard our personal information. Learn more about PERSEC in our first article.

In this newsletter, meet a volunteer and a Team Marine Parents participant, learn  about the different military occupational specialties, and pledge your support for Gold Star family members. For all of our Spanish speaking readers, you can now view our Recruit Parents brochure in Spanish.

God bless and Semper Fi!

PERSEC

Personal security (PERSEC) is often confused with Operational Security (OPSEC). While they are both critical, there is a difference in how and what they effect in our daily lives in the Marine Corps.

Military Occupational Specialties

After Graduation from the Marine Combat Training (MCT), Marines will attend schooling for their chosen MOS, or Military Occupational Specialty.

Your Marine has a 4-digit MOS number that corresponds with the title of his/her Military Occupational Specialty. Typically, your Marine will have selected an MOS during the enlistment process.

Brochures Available in Spanish

The Recruit Parents Brochure is now available in Spanish! One of our volunteers, Aurora Ayon, translated this publication for us so that we could print them and distribute them to Marine Corps Recruiting Stations across the country. We are so thankful for Aurora's hard work not only on this publication, but also with her work on translating many pages of our website, and working in our Official MarineParents.com Spanish speaking groups. It is because of Aurora's dedication as a volunteer that we are now able to reach more future Marine families and provide them the resources they need.

If you would like a Recruit Parents Spanish Brochure email us at mp@MarineParents.com or call the corporate office at 573-449-2003.
