POOL ACCLAIMED TO BOARD POSITION    
Greg Pool will be returning to the PGA of BC Board, having won the position of Assistant's Representative by acclamation.
 
Pool, a Class "A" Professional at Capilano Golf & Country Club, will be serving his second consecutive two-year term. 
 
He notched an impressive fifth-place finish on the 2016 PGA of BC PDP Order of Merit, having earned 104 Points, while also serving as Commissioner of the Srixon PGA of BC Tour.
FIRST EDUCATION SERIES EVENT OF 2017 NEXT WEEK  
The PGA of BC will be hosting the first Education Series event of the new year on Monday, Jan. 23 at the Richmond Country Club.

Registration for the event will remain open until Thursday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. The topics and speakers scheduled to present are: 

- "Building a Fact Based Coaching Case for Improvement" by Norman Baufeld
- "How to Enhance Learning - Not Just Teach" by Doug Hastie
- "Hosting a LPGA Event - From the Club's Perspective" by Byron Cook & Paul Batchelor

MACKENZIE HIRED AS COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING MANAGER   
The PGA of BC is pleased to welcome Eric MacKenzie as the association's new Communications & Marketing Manager. 
 
Eric brings a decade of experience in sports media, with a background primarily as a newspaper reporter and editor. He officially joined the organization earlier this week and will be based out of our Richmond office. His connection to the game of golf goes back more than 20 years, including time spent working for the pro shop of his home club in Manitoba, playing competitively as a junior and writing about numerous golf events and facilities as a journalist.

PGA OF BRITISH COLUMBIA REMEMBERS WARD STOUFFER     
It is with great sadness that the PGA of British Columbia announces the passing of Ward Stouffer. A member of the PGA of Canada since 1985, Ward Stouffer will be remembered best for his wit, loyalty, demeanor, exceptional playing ability, but most of all, a great friend.

Stouffer spent the better part of two decades at Fairwinds Golf Club in Nanoose Bay, BC. He attained Class "A" status with the PGA of Canada in 1995 and was appointed Head Professional the following year. In 2008, he appointed Steve Busswood as the Club's new Head Professional while he took on the title of Executive Professional and Director of Golf Operations until 2015.

Donations can be made to a fund supporting Ward's wife, Shelly, and their two children.
