PARTNER SPOTLIGHT - HARDBITE CHIPS 

Based in the Fraser Valley, Hardbite is proud to operate BC's only potato chip manufacturing plant. The products they create are gluten, cholesterol, and trans fat free - "No added anything!"

 

Since partnering with the PGA of BC, Hardbite products have begun popping up at golf facilities around the province. The products have been well received at select PGA of BC events this season - look for samples at the Pro-Junior and Championship!

2014 PGA OF BC AWARDS NOMINATIONS OPEN
The PGA of BC Awards recognize the leaders in our association across multiple categories - each with a prestigious list of past winners. Several changes have been made to this year's Awards program, including the opportunity for members to vote in the selection process, and the inclusion of Media Professional of the Year. 
 
Professionals are encouraged to nominate candidates who have made outstanding contributions to the game of golf in British Columbia. Nominations will be accepted in the following categories:
  • Golf Professional of the Year
  • Apprentice Professional of the Year
  • Golf Facility of the Year
  • Teacher of the Year
  • Golf Shop of the Year
  • Junior Golf Leader of the Year
  • Sales Representative of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Professional Development Award

PRO-JUNIOR FIELD SET
22 teams from all corners of the province are set to contest the 2014 Jack McLaughlin Memorial PGA of BC Pro-Junior Championship presented by PING - July 21st at Kelowna's Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club
 
2013 champions Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club are confirmed as part of the field - look for a strong week from them in defence of the title. The tournament kicks off July 20th with a nine-hole event and barbecue on Gallagher's Canyon's Pinnacle Course, followed by the main tournament round July 21st.

LATIMER & GRIFFITH CAPTURE PRO-ASSISTANT
Host professionals Russ Latimer & Tyrel Griffith took advantage of local knowledge to fire a two-day total of -18 and win the G&G Golf Company / Callaway Golf PGA of BC Pro-Assistant Championship. The tournament was contested July 7-8 at Black Mountain Golf Club.
 
Padraic O'Rourke & Jordan Rourke from The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club fired a second-round 57 to tie for second place at -16, along with Gorge Vale Golf Club's Jim Cook & Edd Boudreau.

WELCOME BRENDAN KUYSTERS
Brendan Kuysters becomes a PGA of Canada Candidate for Membership thanks to a two-day total of 152 at the Christina Lake Open. 
 
Brendan joins the professional team at Fraser Golf Centre, and will be eligible to compete in local and provincial tournaments including select PGA of BC events.

TITLEIST/FOOTJOY PGA OF BC CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD FILLING FAST 
The 2014 Titleist/FootJoy PGA of BC Championship presented by Axis Insurance Managers will be contest August 25-26 at Point Grey Golf & Country Club in Vancouver - entries for the event are filling quickly!

Early registrants will receive two complimentary books of raffle tickets to offset entry fees and travel costs for the event. As the Championship will feature two afternoon tee times, the field will be limited - entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Don't miss your chance to play in the Association's flagship event - Early Registration closes August 4th.

PGA OF BC TOP 50 TRACKS - THE PRO'S PICKS PRESENTED BY INSIDE GOLF
What are your picks for British Columbia's best courses? PGA of BC Top 50 Tracks - The PGA of BC and Inside Golf Inc. golf course ranking partnership - is back and better than ever!
 
PGA of BC members are asked to select their top three choices from across BC, as well as their three best local courses and up to three "hidden gems". The top courses in the province will be identified based on these selections and the winning course will be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of Inside Golf due out in mid-August.
