LANGLEY ATOM A3 EAGLES TAKE TO THE ICE
Monday, April 7 was Jordyn Verbeek's time to shine.

In partnership with the Vancouver Canucks, the PGA of BC was able to offer a B.C. Minor Hockey team the chance to play during the intermission of the Canucks-Ducks game, Jordyn's name was submitted by Matt Palsenbarg of Northview Golf & Country Club and was the lucky name drawn out to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Jordyn, who plays goal for the Langley Atom A3 Eagles, was able to take her entire team for the game, and here's what happened, according to Jordyn's proud mother Jennifer.

"The players, parents and siblings were spoiled with a bus trip to the game with our driver Norm who briefed the kids on what was in store for them and pumped them up for their evening ahead.  Once we arrived, the players and coaches were brought to the dressing room with their gear and then out to the seats to watch the warm up.  During the intermission, they played a nail-biter game, finishing in a 0-0 tie, followed by Jordyn's first ever post-game interview!  After that, it was back into street clothes and up to the seats for some Canucks hockey action and lots of arena treats.  The parents were worried about the amount of sugar consumption before the return bus trip, but fortunately, the kids just had too much fun and were tired and quiet for the trip home!"

TOPAZ DIGITAL SIGNAGE PARTNERS WITH PGA OF BC

The PGA of British Columbia is proud to announce a new partnership with Topaz Digital Signage, a Canadian-operated digital marketing firm whose mission is to deliver innovative and eye catching displays that ensures that an advertiser's brand gets noticed.

In addition to providing complimentary display rentals, Topaz Digital will provide facilities with a revenue-share opportunity that drives business back to the courses. TARA RODEN TAKES LEAD IN 2014 PDP RACE
What appeared to be a quiet month in the 2014 PDP standings turned into a big move to the top by Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club's Tara Roden.

Roden maximized her yearly education points by taking a variety of courses and earning the full 20 points in that category to take her PDP total to 47 points, 13 more than second-place Myles Johnson of Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club, who has 34 points. Rounding out the top 3 is The Harvest Golf Club's Chad Scott, who has 33 points.

March leader Jeff Palmer of Olympic View Golf Club is now fourth at 29 points, with last year's PDP champion, Dave Zibrik of Capilano Golf & Country Club in fifth place at 27 points.

The highlights of the latest PDP update include many Interior pros who earned points for attending Education Series #3 at The Harvest on March 3rd and multiple point requisition requests for education events completed during the first three months of 2014.

PGA SENIORS' CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANADA
CPGA Logo

The 2014 Mr. Lube PGA Seniors' Championship of Canada presented by ADAMS Golf will be played at Beverly Golf & Country Club in Copetown, Ontario Aug. 5 to 7.

This classically designed Robbie Robinson gem is often referred to as one of the best secrets in Canada golf. At more than 6,500 yards, the par-70 layout features angled greens, traditional bunkering and large mature trees.

Champions Tour player Jim Rutledge of Victoria captured his second-straight (and third since 2010) PGA Seniors' Championship of Canada in 2013 at Lookout Point Golf Club after a birdie on the fourth playoff hole over fellow Champions Tour player Rod Spittle. With the victory Rutledge became just the seventh player in the championship's history to win three or more times.
