CONDITION UPDATE ON PING'S BRAD THOMAS

As many of you are aware, long-time PING Golf Canada Sales Representative and friend of the PGA of BC, Brad Thomas has recent suffered a stroke and is currently at Vancouver General Hospital recovering from multiple procedures.

PING Golf Canada and the PGA of BC wanted to provide our members and friends an update on his condition through a note sent by Brad's spouse, Marthe.

The boys and I are so grateful for the outpouring of concern and affection for Brad. Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts.

It's been a very tough time since Wednesday when Brad had the massive stroke. He is in the high-risk section of the Intensive Care Unit at VGH and will likely be there for some time.  He suffered a hemorrhage after the Angioplasty procedure and was rushed for an emergency Craniotomy surgery.

They slowly brought him out of sedation following the surgery in order to best monitor/ assess his response abilities naturally as well as electronically. He has been showing progress on his right side.

The most important thing to know right now is that he is considered to be in high-risk, critical condition and will be so for the next while (could be weeks, we just don't know). The specialists have told me it's essential that he have no visitors for now aside from next of kin. He cannot have any stimulus that affects his brain function, blood pressure or heart rate. There is no way they can provide an estimation of when he will be able to receive visitors, but as soon as I know, I will pass this information on.

Doing what's best for Brad is of course essential, so I'm asking that people be patient for his sake and understand that it's just not possible to visit him for now.

If you would like to check in periodically with someone about Brad's condition, you can contact:

The PGA of BC would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Brad's friends and family during this difficult time.
