PRO-ASSISTANT HEATING UP

Kelowna's Black Mountain Golf Club will host the 2014 G&G Golf and Callaway Pro-Assistant Championship - July 7th & 8thLast year's event saw Summerland Golf & Country Club's Tyrel Babkirk and Greg Machtaler reach a scorching -20 total to grab the trophy and the $2,250 winners cheque.

 

Host Professional Russ Latimer is excited to showcase the unique atmosphere that the facility offers. In Russ' words: "At Black Mountain we like to think we're different than the rest - we can't wait to show you why!"

CANUCKS JUNIOR GOLF WEEK REGISTRATION CLOSING
The first annual Canucks Junior Golf Week kicks off July 2nd-9th 2014. The event aims to keep kids engaged in sport during hockey's off-season, through golf clinics taking place at more than 50 PGA of BC golf facilities across the province.

Registration is filling fast, but time remains before the Friday June 13th deadline to enroll. Participating facilities and registration can be found at canucks.com/golfweek.

TUBB & HARPER TAKE HOME TITLES AT RIVERSHORE
 June 2nd & 3rd saw the FlightScope / COBRA PUMA Golf PGA of BC Assistants' Championship contested alongside the PGA of BC Seniors' Championship - both at Kamloops' Rivershore Estates & Golf Links.

Oliver Tubb of Seymour Creek Golf Centre nipped Bryn Parry (also of Seymour Creek Golf Centre) in a playoff to win the Assistants' trophy - an impressive result in his first event as a PGA of BC member.

On the Seniors' side, McCleery GC's James Harper birdied the last for a two shot win over Dean Claggett from Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy.

WELCOME NEVIN DUNFIELD
The PGA of BC welcomes Nevin Dunfield (Radium Resort) as a new Candidate for Membership. Nevin's two-day score of 153 in his PAT at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort secured his status - well done!
 
Nevin is now eligible to play in local Kootenay Pro Series events, and applicable PGA of BC Championships.
