JOHN RANDLE APPOINTED TO PGA OF BC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors have unanimously appointed John Randle (Teaching Professional, Bear Mountain Golf Resort) to fill the casual vacancy until the next Annual General Meeting. The results of the recent Board election showed the membership's confidence in John's ability to be a leader.

"John brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be of great benefit to the Association. He served as Assistant's Representative from 2011-2012 and we look forward to his continued contribution to the Board," said PGA of BC President
Brian McDonald.

Randle replaces Jesse Crowe, who resigned from his position as Director on the PGA of BC Board, effective immediately. Over the course of the past two years, Jesse has served in the capacity of the Membership & Employment, as well as in the Captain's portfolio where his efforts were instrumental in the positive direction of the Association.

"
I would like to thank Jesse for his contributions and efforts on behalf of fellow PGA of BC members. We certainly understand that stepping down was a difficult decision given his passion to make a difference. We know he will run for the Board again in the future and I speak for everyone on the Board that his efforts and energy will be missed" said McDonald.

SUCCESSFUL EDUCATION SERIES #3 AT THE HARVEST

The Harvest Golf Club played host on March 3rd to another very successful Education Series event. Presenters Brad Pelletier, Tim Kubash and Jason Kennedy, pictured from left to right, all had unique topics which led to great discussions between PGA of BC members who attended the event.

PGA of BC Sales Manager Grant Gray was on hand to greet members, while Host Professional Chad Scott moderated the well-attended event.

A CHILD'S CHANCE TO SKATE DURING A CANUCKS GAME
The PGA of BC is proud to announce that through its upcoming partnership with the Vancouver Canucks, we are able to offer this amazing opportunity to Members.

Through the Canucks' Mini Minor Hockey program, which includes initiation/novice, atom and pee wee minor hockey teams throughout the province, select minor hockey teams will be given the opportunity to skate during the intermission of a Vancouver Canucks home game.

The PGA of BC has secured a spot during the first intermission of the Vancouver Canucks-Anaheim Ducks game on April 7th at Rogers Arena for one lucky child's team referred by a PGA of BC member whose facility is participating in Junior Canucks Golf Week.

PGA of BC members should have received an email last week on this new upcoming initiative. By participating in Junior Canucks Golf Week, your referral's team is eligible for this opportunity. The deadline to enter the draw is Noon on Friday, March 14. To enter, simply email alfie@pgabc.org with the name of the child and team.

This exciting opportunity is made possible through the Canucks Centre for BC Minor Hockey and its collaboration with BC Hockey and Charter Bus Lines of British Columbia. These organizations work in partnership to allow minor hockey players and coaches the chance to participate in events which support their growth and development.

If selected, teams must be a member of BC Hockey;registered in their association's Initiation/Novice, Atom or Peewee levels;able to arrive one hour prior to the scheduled game time with all necessary equipment to play; and able to provide appropriate chaperones, with no more than four coaches and one referee. UPDATE ON THE CONDITION OF BRAD THOMAS

The family of PING rep Brad Thomas wanted to update friends about Brad's medical status. They released a statement on Feb. 26, which includes these words:

"It's been a little over a month now since Brad had a stroke and I know many of you are awaiting news about his condition. It's been a very tough time, as you can imagine, but there is some positive news.

"We celebrated Brad's 60th birthday on Monday (Feb 24th). Many friends and family members (and the odd celebrity) had recorded short videos with birthday greetings, and Taylor compiled them all into one production, some of which Brad was able to watch over the course of the day. He was pleased and moved -thank you to all who contributed to this.It was also great to be able to bring him parts of the Super Bowl and the Olympic highlights."
