NO PESTICIDE BAN IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

  

The PGA of BC received positive news this week when the Special Committee on Cosmetic Pesticides posted its 118 report (May 17) concluding there is insufficient evidence to warrant a provincial wide ban on pesticides used for cosmetic purposes.  Click here for the full article from the WCTA website.

The PGA of BC is proud to announce Committee members for the 2012 season. Committees are essential in providing recommendations to the Board of Directors in determining the Association's strategic direction and providing a greater depth of feedback from our nearly 700 members. CONGRATULATIONS
 
The fifth leg of the 2012 toothguy.ca VIPT Summer Tour was played Tuesday, May 15th on the pristine greens of the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club. The 25 players in the field were greeted by a great golf course with firm and lush conditions on an outstanding west coast day.  Axle Riley (Cordova Bay Golf Club) continues to play well, defeating Rob Cruise (Highland Pacific Golf) on the first playoff hole to earn top spot and $660; both players shot 66 in regulation (Cruise earned $480 for the runner-up finish). Edd Boudreau (Gorge Vale Golf Club)  was one shot back at 67 to earn third place ($360). In fourth place alone was Mac McLeod (Royal Colwood Golf Club) turning in a tidy 69 ($300).

Alex Cordero is now an Apprentice Professional at Sunshine Woods Golf Course. 

 

Timothy Stuart is accepted as a member of the PGA of Canada and becomes a Candidate for Membership at Royal Colwood Golf Club.  

 

Miles Palahniuk has reinstated with the PGA of Canada and is now an Apprentice Professional at the Okanagan Golf Club.

 

Antony Harris is now the Head Teaching Professional at Golf Town (Victoria).

 

Taylor Fahey has left Penticton Golf & Country Club and is now a Candidate for Membership at Black Mountain Golf Club.

 

Aaron Moody is now an Apprentic Professional at GolfTEC North Vancouver.

 

Matt Ostash has transferred to the Alberta Zone and is now an Apprentice Professional at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

 

As of May 16, 2012  

 

Muncie Booth has left Langara Golf Course and is now the Head Professional at McCleery Golf Course.

 

Dan Wellicome is now the Head Professional at Langara Golf Course.

 

Robert Tadey has left Twin Lakes Golf Resort and is now a Candidate for Membership at Fairview Mountain Golf Club.

 

Brooks Jones is now an Apprentice Professional at Vernon Golf & Country Club (as of May 24).

 

John Dudley is now a Class A Professional at Fraserglen Golf Course.
