We are sure glad August is over. There were some long days spent repairing the flood damage to the course, but with the help of the Parks turf crew we were able to aerate, till and slice those areas before we fertilized and over seeded. Their help was greatly appreciated! A "BIG" shout out goes to Brad Beaulieu and Martin Implement for arranging the use of a Hydro Seeder to mulch the affected areas. Thanks for making that happen Brad! If anyone was wondering, it took 1100 pounds of grass seed, 2000 pounds of fertilizer, 125 bags of mulch and a bunch of man hours to get where we are today. The seed is coming in nicely and hopefully by mid-September we will be able give it its first cut. We are probably going to keep those areas closed for most of the rest of the season, so thank you for your patience and understanding.
Aerification of the greens and tees is scheduled for Monday September 11. We will have temp greens for most of the day. It's a great day to work on your drives! Have an awesome September!
