The Week of the Young Child

This month, Kids Count Child Care celebrated "The Week of the Young Child", an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years, birth through age 8, lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later life.Scroll through to see the fun activities the Children of Kids Count Child Care participated in to celebrate!
Monday, the children wrote their own original song and performed it for the toddler class.
On Wednesday, the toddlers worked together to build a block city.
Concluding the celebration of "The Week of the Young Child" the toddlers expressed their creative side with finger painting!
Pirates for a Day!
Class 1 got their imaginative juices flowing as they dressed up as pirates and princesses for the day. The children ventured around the school following a secret map. The map lead them to clues to find hidden treasures!
