2018 PMAR Political Action Committee (PAC) Voters' Guide
Who serves in local elected offices can be critical to how our neighborhoods and communities function, and to how you conduct your business as a Realtor®. From December 2017 through March 2018, the PMAR PAC Trustees devoted their time to interview 26 candidates for local and
regional political office. To assist you as
you fill out your ballot, the PMAR PAC Trustees provide the attached Voters’
Guide.

Around the Region
by Daryl Winand
In this month's edition of Around the Region, we take a look at the May 15th primary election financial considerations by city. Not surprisingly, there are measures affecting
the bottom line. Included are a few local
monetary matters that may be of interest
to you and/or your clients.

The Perfect Spring Home Maintenance Checklist
With the days lengthening and weather warming, spring is a good time to get outdoors and tackle some larger home projects. With the threat of winter
storms past, you can look for damage
and make any needed repairs, as well
as prep your home and garden for
summer.

Homeownership Rates Increase as Renting Continues to Decrease
Over the last year, more Americans
became homeowners as the number of renters continued to decrease. The homeownership rate has been gradually climbing back since hitting a 50-year low in 2016. The rate peaked in 2004 at 69.2 percent, but despite recent climbs, it still remains below the 25-year average rate of 66.3 percent.

Have You Completed Your Ethics Requirement for this Cycle?
The National Association of Realtors® requires every Realtor® to complete ethics training within a two-year cycle. As a courtesy, we want to remind those who have not yet fulfilled their mandatory biennial
NAR Code of Ethics cycle requirement that currently ends December 31, 2018. PMAR will be offering Ethics at George Fox University on Wed, May 16, 2018 from 9:30am to 12pm.
