Hypercom announces L4250 End of Life

Hypercom has announced that it will cease production of all L4250 products on January 31st, 2012.  It should be noted that current PCI regulations still will allow for the purchase and installation of these products through April 30, 2014.  It is expected that some amount of inventory will be available through POSDATA after January 2012.

POSDATA Recommendations

POSDATA recommends that any development work on Hypercom products should be done on their new L5XXX  product lines.  Current software vendors and resellers should begin planning on upgrading their code to support the new generation of Hypercom products.

Your POSDATA sales representative has all of the information you may need to know about beginning new development on the Hypercom L5XXXX platform, or you can request information through an email to sales@posdata.com and a sales representative will contact you.

Hypercom Announces End of Life for SmartPayments (TPI) Products

POSDATA was notified on July 18, 2011 that effective July 15, 2011 Hypercom has provided an End of Life announcement for all SmartPayments products. For your reference, click below to the Hypercom End of Life Statement, as well as a list of alternative solution providers.

Hypercom announced that Smart Payments products are no longer PA-DSS compliant and strongly recommend that users migrate to other solutions.

If you have customers utilizing these software programs, please provide them with this notification. If POSDATA's SmartPayments customers need any help in getting additional answers from Hypercom, please feel free to contact us.

Ingenico announces i6XXX Price Increase and EOL Plan

Ingenico has announced that their popular i6XXX integrated credit

terminals will have a 15% price increase beginning for all purchases made after September 30th, 2011.  Distributors like POSDATA will be making purchases of equipment at the current pricing in an effort to stockpile some terminals for their customers before having to institute the price increase. POSDATA's intention is to maintain all current pricing until at least January 1st, 2012.

In addition to the price increase notice, Ingenico has announced that it will cease production of all i6XXX products on December 31st, 2012.  It should be noted that current PCI regulations still will allow for the purchase and installation of these products through April 30, 2014.  It is expected that some amount of inventory will be available through POSDATA after January 2013.

POSDATA Recommendations

POSDATA recommends that any development work on new Ingenico products should be done on their new iSC2XX, iSC350, iPP2XX and

iPP3XX Telium product lines.  Current software vendors and resellers should begin planning on upgrading their code to support the new generation of Ingenico products.

Your POSDATA sales representative has all of the information you may need to know about beginning new development on the Telium platform, or you can request information through an email to sales@posdata.com and a sales representative will contact you.

Please feel free to offer any comments or suggestions that you may have to improve our content. I look forward to hearing from you.
