Recent Endorsement Is Further Proof That Momentum Lays With Reyes Uranga's Campaign

LONG BEACH, CA - Tonia Reyes Uranga announced today that she has received the endorsement of newly elected Long Beach City Councilwoman Suzie Price in her campaign to represent Long Beach and Division 3 of the Water Replenishment District of Southern California.

Price is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and a 20+ year resident of the City of Long Beach.  During the last 20 years Price has continuously served as a community advocate and leader.  Driven by her devotion for justice and community service, Price has been working as a Deputy District Attorney for over 14 years, currently handling homicide cases, while also serving in numerous other capacities as a community leader.

"I proudly stand with Tonia as she campaigns for the Water Replenishment District," said Price.  "Tonia has been an exceptional leader in the City of Long Beach and would make a great member of the Water Replenishment District.  Tonia's experience and understanding of the various city and state agencies make her well suited for leading the charge to ensure that the WRD gets back to the business of keeping our ground water safe."

"I am proud to have Councilwoman Price supporting my campaign," said Reyes Uranga.  "This endorsement is further proof that our message of accountability and transparency is resonating with the voters and members of our community.  I look forward to working with Councilwoman Price and the entire Long Beach City Council in ushering a new era at the WRD where the main focus is water."

Price joins fellow Long Beach City Councilmembers Lena Gonzalez, Roberto Uranga, Al Austin and Rex Richardson in supporting Reyes Uranga.

Reyes Uranga is running for the seat vacated by the passing of Board Member Lillian Kawasaki in 2013.  The WRD board made an appointment to fill the seat temporarily until the upcoming election which will be held on November 4, 2014.
