BVP Scholars Surpass State NECAP Averages Statewide
Letter from the Executive Director

As we conclude "Fun"bruary at Blackstone Valley Prep (see some pictures below!), we begin to look forward to March, which is all about building and celebrating community

I'd like to share with you three important upcoming events that are top of mind:
  1. The first is parent-teacher conferences, which are being held March 10-13.  At BVP, there is nothing we love more than connecting with our families around their scholars' growth and achievement.
  2. As you noticed when you first opened this note, BVP scholars will be hosting an art show for community members at the Pawtucket Visitor Center on Wednesday, March 19. I encourage you to save the date.  Attendees with tickets will be able to enjoy a private reception with special guest Steve Brosnihan, where guests will also be able to bid on scholar artwork . The gallery, which will display artwork made by each and every scholar, will be open to the community between 6:00-8:00 p.m. Be sure to stop by for what I know will be a memorable evening.
  3. As many of you know, the celebration of Rhode Island Mayoral Academies's fifth year anniversary was postponed because of inclement weather.  The event at the State House will now take place the week following the BVP Scholar art show on Wednesday, March 26. I encourage you to show your legislators that you support BVP by joining us there-- please bring friends and family!
Lastly, I would be remiss not to shout-out our eighth grade scholars for being the highest in the state for proficiency in math in the state. You can read more about the results that were released yesterday here

As always, I'm so fortunate that you are members of our community here at BVP, and I look forward to seeing you this month.

My best,

Jeremy Chiappetta
Executive Director

Choosing BVP High School: Rhode Island Mayoral Academies CEO Michael Magee provide thoughtful reasons why BVP High School is their family's choice.

"Reputations for excellence sometimes outlast excellence itself. Nothing's certain in life, but what I see at BVP is a group of leaders with great pride in what they're building, who are planning to be here for a while, and also-- perhaps more importantly-- creating a "deep bench" so that what they build outlasts them: a sustainable culture of high expectations and a willingness to change to meet the needs of scholars and families."
