November always seems like such a dreary month to me: the clocks change, the days become shorter, and the rain begins falling more regularly. However, this November is different, thanks to some exciting PRISMA announcements!

This month, we're busy recruiting for an integral position within our team. If you're interested in getting involved with PRISMA in a meaningful way (and getting access to free concerts), then this might be for you!

Volunteer Recruitment

Join the PRISMA team! Volunteers are the life blood of the organization, and work under the guidance of professional staff and a dedicated board of directors. Enjoy contributing to the arts in a fun environment, while earning complimentary access to festival concert(s).

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
A responsible volunteer with excellent computer, organization and communications skills is needed. The position involves data entry of membership forms, sponsor forms, volunteer application forms; drafting/updating letters; preparing mail outs; compiling feedback; processing donations/renewals; assisting with ticket and pass sales at the office; preparation of complimentary passes and tickets; customer service; and general upkeep of our office.

Hours are flexible: 6-8 hours per week from December-March. The mall office will be open one day per week. April-June hours are 10-12 hours per week. The mall office will be open 6 days per week.

AGM Updates

Thank you to all who attended our AGM last month! Some very exciting announcements were made.

PRISMA is thrilled to announce a new Musical Merit Fund, generously provided by high-level donors, to attract top students in need of financial assistance. This fund is crucial in establishing PRISMA as one of the world's leading orchestra academies. 

We are also very excited to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors:

We would also like to acknowledge and honour P aul Schachter, Pat Gerlach and Brian Balfe as founding members of PRISMA as their terms on our board come to an end.  Their lasting contributions have been integral to our organization; we cannot thank them enough and we are grateful that they will continue to support PRISMA in other capacities for the coming seasons.

PRISMA 2016 will also mean the rebranding of our annual community event at Willingdon Beach... Watch out for more details on "PRISMA on the Beach"!
