Edmonton seeks next Indigenous Artist-in-Residence

The Indigenous Artist-in-Residence program adds to the City’s work to make Edmonton a welcoming place that fosters a sense of belonging for Indigenous peoples. The City of Edmonton is now accepting applications for its next Indigenous Artist-in-Residence.

The program is open to Indigenous artists of various mediums, including, but not limited to, music, performance, visual and material art, as well as media and literary arts. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to display work, build networks and connect with Edmontonians.

The City of Edmonton’s Indigenous Relations Office is working with the Edmonton Arts Council and other Indigenous artists and stakeholders in offering the residency. Administration will work with the Indigenous artist to amplify their voice and unique message through their art.

This is a paid, part-time opportunity with a total salary of $24,000. The artist must be over 18 years of age, and will need to commit to 20 hours per week over the course of a one-year residency. Start date is to be determined with the successful candidate. The deadline to apply is October 19, 2018.
