On Saturday, August 18, both Capital and Metro line LRT service will be suspended temporarily as Thales conducts tests on its signalling system. Replacement bus service will run every 7 to 8 minutes from the start of service until 1 p.m., when LRT service is scheduled to resume.
This closure, one of several anticipated in the coming months, is required to accommodate Thales’ testing of its signalling system in the field. The City of Edmonton is working cooperatively with Thales to ensure testing can be completed at times that are least disruptive to transit users.
For customer convenience, Edmonton Transit Service will have LRT replacement buses running every seven to eight minutes during the morning closure. Bus stops with red signs labelled “LRT Replacement” show where passengers can catch replacement bus service. Replacement service locations can be found
