The City of Edmonton is a proud partner of Reconciliation Week. Learn about Edmonton’s rich Indigenous history and recognize reconciliation work being done in Edmonton at one of the many events happening across our city.
In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) released the final report and recommendations to start healing between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people across Canada. The report proposed actions to address the harms and trauma that were a product of Indian residential schools.
Reconciliation Week is supported by the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public School Board, Edmonton Catholic School Board, Edmonton Public Schools First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education and Reconciliation in Solidarity Edmonton (RISE).
