PSWIFT Broken Glass Awards honoree, Jennifer Todd, will produce the 89th Academy Awards on Feb. 26th.  Todd is a film and TV vet who worked closely with De Luca during the New Line Cinema days on such pics as the "Austin Powers" franchise. Todd and her sister, Suzanne Todd, ran the Team Todd production banner.  More recently Jennifer Todd has been a producer on "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass." Todd, who is also an exec producer on the new Syfy drama "Incorporated," is president of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck production company Pearl Street Films.


 

"State of the Industry" Annual Meeting - Where are we growing?
Panel of Experts!

What an incredible panel for our State of the Industry Annual Meeting at the beautiful Mission Hills CC on January 31st! This informative panel discussion was on the film industry here in the Coachella Valley. Each of the panelists gave us a report card on what has happened in the last year - related to growth of the industry, what the plans are for the coming year-and how we-all can help! A Special thank you Dr. Susan Murphy for being our moderator and to Leanna Bonaminci for putting together this program for PSWIFT members!  Panel included Kate Anderson- Director of PR for Agustin Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, Bettina Breckenfeld and Stephanie Stethem from Riverside County Film Comission, Sheri Davis - PS Film Office, Mary Jo Ginther - Director for the PS Bureau of Tourism, Jan Maguire - Film, Arts & Entertainment Manager for the GPSCVB and Richard "Kip" Serafin - Principal of the Kip Group/Locations 760.

Celebrate Valentine's Day in Palm Desert with Local Authors
 
(Palm Desert, CA) Renowned authors Fern Field Brooks and Thom Racina will talk about love, loss and laughter joining Dr. Leslie Todd at the Town Center Compounding Pharmacy at 72-624 El Paseo in Palm Desert who will explain hormones, happiness and health from 2 - 4 p.m.
 
Fern Field Brooks has been in the entertainment industry for over 35 years, beginning her career at Norman Lear's Tandem Productions and working as assistant to the Executive Producer of the sitcom Maude. Most recently she produced USA's hit television series Monk, which ended in an 8 season run, and she was Consulting Producer on the indie feature film "Shakespeare's Cat." She has been honored with a prime-time Emmy, two Peabody Awards, two Humanitas Awards and more.
Ms. Field is also a respected author. Her first book, "Letters To My Husband ..." has been published in hard cover in the United States, Canada and Japan and she is now completing three more books - "Producers Don't Cry" based on her professional experiences, and autobiographies entitled "My Accidental Life" and "They Call Me Destiny" - a book she says her cat wrote in Italian and which she translated. She will have the books on hand and will autograph them personally (they're great Valentine gifts). Joining her will be Thom Racina, a well-known head writer and producer for General Hospital (1963), Days of Our Lives (1965), Another World (1964), and many other soap operas. RSVP to jnewcpr@aol.com
