January 2017 President's message

Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a sensational holiday!
This new year has started off with a bang, and a good one at that! We have many wonderful opportunities to network, educate, mentor and raise funds for our programs.
Starting off on January 31st, we will hold our Annual Meeting and State of Industry Luncheon at Mission Hills Country Club. Leanna Bonamici will moderate a panel of esteemed experts in our area. Take a look at the details in this newsletter! This is a most sought-after event, so please make your reservations now.
In addition, we have some open positions on the Board of Directors due to members garnering professional positions in the non-profit field. I would like to thank both Diane Kline and Past President Christiane Joubert for their dedication to PSWIFT, and wish them much success in their new jobs!
If you would like to be a potential candidate for the Board of Directors, or would like to make a nomination of a member, please send a resume of submission to our office by January 25, 2017. You must be a member in good standing for at least one year unless waved by the current BOD.
I would like to thank Fred Fern and The Shops on El Paseo for their continued support!  It is with great pride that we invite you to join us for the 3rd Annual Oscar Party on El Paseo on February 26th.
This is always a star studded event with a meal fit for royalty by Wolfgang Puck.  In addition, Warren Jones, CEO of the Jones Group waves his magic wand and always creates an event to dazzle and remember.
Please join us on the Red Carpet for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Spago, while watching the Oscars on mega screens.  The celebrated and beautiful actress Donna Mills will receive the "Legend Award", and the dynamic Thelma Houston, will be performing a "Tribute to Motown."
Proceeds in part benefit our Coachella Valley Book Pals Program and other educational outreach. Sponsorship opportunities are available and most appreciated. Click here to find out more information on Sponsorship opportunities
Thank you so very much for your consideration, I look forward to seeing you at the State of the Industry luncheon and the Oscar Party!
My best always,
