PSWIFT Masthead
President's Message
Dear Members,

Hot fun in the summertime!   What a month it's been!  We had the mixer with SAG-AFTRA - and have continuing events planned for the future and ongoing with our new friends, Jane Austin (LA President), Ilyanne Morden Kichaven (Exec Director), Ellen Crawford (2nd VP) - and joined in by Esai Morales (1st VP) who happened to be in town shooting on the feature film SENIOR MOMENT.
Speaking of SENIOR MOMENT - this film employed many of our locals, put stars and crew in hotels and condo's and shot for 4 full weeks here in the Palm Springs area! It is a post card for Palm Springs!  Thanks to Gina Goff of Goff Productions for bringing this project to the community!
We met with Kelly Hall and Jessica Enders of COD, who are heading up the revamped and refocused Film Studies program at COD - we will be working with them on some upcoming events but also as possibly on their Advisory Team and - potentially putting their students in Intern positions with our members - so keep this in mind for the coming season!!
A big CONGRATULATIONS to Tere Britton of BookPALS for receiving the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Democratic Women of the Desert - AND to Bianca Rae for receiving a STAR on the Walk of Fame!!!  You are both Rock Stars!
Another thanks to Bianca for connecting us with Tracy at JUST BLOW DRY'S - who has offered to provide PSWIFT a percentage - from all the blow dry's we book from

Our End of Season Mixer will be held at Mitch's on El Paseo - and that is always fun!  Come on out for a cool one and toast to another season - and some well deserved quiet in our wonderful town!  (Although, not so much anymore! - we keep getting busier and busier!)
Speaking of busy - Nadine, Cindy and I will be working on the website over the summer months - please make sure we have all your correct information!

BookPALS News

Elementary school children throughout the valley each week eagerly await the arrival of volunteers from Coachella Valley BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) who share the joy of books by reading aloud to them. The 50 volunteers--who are actors, retired teachers and others--introduce the wonderful world of reading by reading a wide range of books from illustrated picture books to the classics of children's literature.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Tere Britton at 760-898-405
