Klentner Ranch defeated Farmers and Merchants Bank 14-11 in the finals of the first high goal tournament of the season at Santa Barbara. Perla, played by Dan Walker and owned by Santi Trotz was awarded the Engel & Völkers Best Playing Pony award. Jesse Bray was named Most Valuable Player.

On Tuesday, July 19, the United States Polo Association announced the passing of Detroit Polo Club founder, Merle Jenkins. He was 84 years old. Jenkins was a civil litigator for over 20 years. He founded the Detroit Polo Club in 1962 and played polo with his team "Detroit Blues" for over three decades. Jenkins' passion for polo was memorialized through several awards. In 2011, he was awarded the USPA Iglehart Award and most recently, the USPA Mid-States Lifetime Achievement Award.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and Royal Salute's Peter Moore, Global Prestige Brand Director, presented the mighty Coronation Cup to Canadian big hitter Fred Mannix Jr after the GT Bank Commonwealth team narrowly defeated England 12-11 in a thrilling game at Guards Polo Club on Saturday, July 23. This match has been the showpiece game for the sport's governing body, the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA), since the 1970s, but such was the standard of play in this year's match that Coronation Cup was said by many to be the best ever.

Press Release - POLO +10
The 2016 edition of the traditional International Polo Cup came to an end at Saint Tropez Polo Club. Teams played 10 days of non-stop action for the 10 & 15 goal tournaments. Monte Carlo defeated Pull Love 6-4 in the 15-Goal finals and Sezz defeated St. Tropex 5-4 in the 10-Goal finals.

Santa Barbara Polo Club
Farmers & Merchants Bank defeated Lucchese. Dan Walker was awarded Most Valuable player and his horse, "Dulce" was named Best Playing Pony: Amateur. Lucas Criado's mare "Paba" was awarded Best Playing Pony: Professional. Farmers & Merchants Bank has won three of their five attempts in the Silver Cup.

Eleven teams traveled (some more than nine hours) to one of the oldest club in the Pacific Northwest to compete in the Circuit Governors tournament, July 16-17. Tentnolgy eventually beat out Spokane 10-5. Nicolas Maciel was named MVP. Best Playing Pony was awarded to Zelaya, ridden by Felix Lllambias, owned by George Dill.
