Smith Community Raises Funds for Chile
Contributions help families in three towns
The local farmers of the O'Higgins Region in Chile needed our help and the Smith community responded! Last summer, Chile faced the country's worst forest fire catastrophe ever recorded. The fires devastated more than 1.2 million acres of land, including houses, national parks, and farms.
As the Robert H. Smith School of Business community, we wanted to show solidarity following this emergency in Chile and began a fundraising campaign. The $850 we raised directly helped families affected by the fires. Recently, "ProSexta AG", the association with whom we partnered, delivered 1,000 bales of hay to feed the animals of ten families in the towns of Chepica, Marchigüe, and Pumanque.
All these rural families of the O'Higgins Region in Chile would like to thank you for your generous and selfless support to keep their businesses running.
