Fall Farmer's Market Highlights
Food really does taste better outside!
Organized by our green team, Deep Roots ( charteroakdeeproots@gmail.com ), and hosted by the Curious, Enthusiastic, and Knowledgeable students at Charter Oak, visitors sampled fresh and local garden veggies, explored the school garden and listened to live music provided by Charter Oak Parent, Adam Scherer. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all who took part in our Fall Farmer's Market.

Veteran's Day at Charter Oak

Please plan to attend our Veteran's Day Ceremony at Charter Oak, Friday, November 10! The Flagpole Ceremony begins at 8:30am.

We will be hosting a breakfast for our Veterans. Janet Fournier is looking for volunteers to bake or send in breakfast items (Danish, muffins, fruit, bagels, cream cheese, doughnuts, breads, juice, etc.) After breakfast, our guests will visit classrooms to talk to the students.

Donations for the breakfast can be dropped off in the office after school on Thursday, November 9, or before school on November 10th. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Janet at (860) 233-8506. Thank you for your support
News from the Library
Your garbage can is no place for those dried up old markers. RECYCLE THEM!

All classrooms are collecting dried out markers and felt tips - of any brand or kind. They get boxed up and sent back to Crayola for recycling. To date we have sent back about 5000 markers for melting and reuse! That's a lot of plastic!

If you have old markers at home, collect them in a bag and bring them to the library. Ms. Cochrane has a collection box started.
