Happy Fall!
A word from your PTSA presidents

A blessed time indeed--it's Thanksgiving! What are you most thankful for this year?
Did you know that historians say that no turkey was served at the first Thanksgiving feast?! In place of the turkey there was deer or venison, ducks, geese, oysters, lobster, eel and fish. (I bet turkeys were thankful!) Thanksgiving didn't become a national holiday until over 200 years after the Mayflower when Sarah Josepha Hale, the woman who wrote the classic song "Mary Had a Little Lamb," convinced President Lincoln in 1863 to make Thanksgiving a national holiday, after writing letters for 17 years campaigning for this to happen. Thanks, Sarah!

We are truly thankful and honored to be your PTSA presidents and appreciate and are grateful for our Lakeview Family. However you choose to celebrate, cheers to you and yours....may your Thanksgiving be filled with laughter and joy and may the season of thanks last throughout the year!

Lakeview Student Directory
Paper copies sent home

In the spirit of building community, the PTSA is providing a paper copy of the student directory to all Lakeview families this year! In the interest of saving trees we are distributing one copy per family. If you have multiple children at Lakeview, a copy was sent home with youngest child in your family last week. For families who opted out of the district or PTSA directory, please  email the membership committee for a copy. The directory is also available online. You can still  join the PTSA and enjoy the many benefits today. Let the play dates commence!

Winter Wishes, a Lakeview tradition, allows the community to show they care by helping Lakeview families share in the joy of gift giving and receiving during the holiday season.  Rhonda Nelson, our school counselor, confidentially facilitates gathering the wishes from our Winter Wishes families.  Lakeview students, with their parents, then select one or more wishes and fulfill them for these families.

Beginning on Thursday, November 16th and continuing through Friday, December 1st, gift tags will be available for pick up both before and after school in the front office.

If you are unable to come with your child, you may fill out the form sent home giving them permission to select an item.   You can also purchase items online on the Lakeview Elementary Winter Wishes Amazon wish list

Bring all items unwrapped to school office on or before December 5th.  We will also have a collection area at the Lakeview Multi-cultural Night.  Please return all gifts with their original Winter Wishes tag attached with the gift number.
