On Saturday, May 5, 2012, PULSE Contemporary Art Fairs Director, Cornell DeWitt, together with the PULSE Committee, awarded the PULSE PRIZE to Sigrid Viir, an Estonian artist whose photography installation was displayed at
Temnikova & Kasela Gallery (Tallinn). Rein Lang, the Estonian Ministry of Culture, was on hand to celebrate the announcement.
The
PULSE PRIZE is awarded to an emerging artist of distinction, whose work is highlighted in the IMPULSE section of the fair. The PULSE Committee includes Thomas von Lintel, VON LINTEL GALLERY; Stefan Roepke, GALERIE STEFAN ROEPKE; and Nerea Fernandez, NIEVES FERNANDEZ.
