Bird Island

I love this small island in NW Florida. It is privately owned. I was there for a weekend artist retreat in October of 2010. The weather was perfect and the sea island sunflowers were i full bloom. A wonderful place to paint.  I was able to get a lot of reference photos so now and then I get one out and paint. Fond memories.

Tip of the Day -  Saving Soil

Water soil along with plants. During dry months, it's important to take steps to keep your soil moist. Use piles of damp mulch to nourish dry topsoil and to keep it from being blown away.
