In Loving Memory of Coleby Pharr
As we mourn the loss of our beloved Cole, we remember him as the loving, caring, helpful, hilarious and fun loving young man that he was. He will be deeply missed in the PAP community and our campus will truly never be the same without him. He impacted us all in one way or another with his bigger than life personality and undeniable way of making everyone laugh. Between his immense hat collection that he was always happy to show off, hilarious Mickey Mouse impersonations and genuine care for all those around him, Cole has left a permanent mark on each of our hearts.

During his memorial on January 19th, his amazingly strong and inspirational mother quoted Maya Angelou by saying:
Thank you to all of you who attended the memorial. Truly shows what a close knit community Palo Alto Prep has created. We thank you all for showing the Pharr family all of your love and support.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. All of our hearts go out to you. Beverly and Bruce, thank you for sharing your son with Palo Alto Prep, we will cherish his memory forever.

Please know that all PAP staff are here to support all of our students during this difficult time in absolutely every way that we can.
Never to be forgotten,
Always to be missed,
Forever in our hearts.
Book Drive in Honor of Cole Pharr
After the passing of Cole Pharr, we have all been trying to find some way to honor him in hopes of bringing some little piece of peace and closure to this tragic event.
Cole was very generous and it was very important to him to give back to others. He spent a lot of his time tutoring/reading to middle school students at Brentwood Academy in East Palo Alto through the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. He played the part of a big brother to many of these students and he took pride in doing so. With the help of Eli Jarvis' mom, Laurie, who coordinated this whole thing, we would like to be able to donate books that are appropriate for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade and place a label that reads "In Honor of Cole Pharr" inside every book. The label is being created by a PAP student.

We are asking that all books be new or gently used, and that they are books that really inspired or impacted your children in one way or another. We want them to really be meaningful for these students that Cole voluntarily supported through the Boys and Girls Club. Whether they be funny books like "Captain Underpants", or deeply thought provoking pull books that they adored growing up, we want them all to be as meaningful as possible.

We will have a book drop at PAP for the donations and because Valentine's Day was so important to Cole and his parents, we would like to be able to drop off the books on Valentine's Day so we would like all books by February 9th.

Thank you all for your continued support and generosity. This cause is obviously very near and dear to all of our hearts so we greatly appreciate all donations.
IN ADDITION...

Laurie (Eli's mom) also organized a fundraiser in honor of Cole's Book Drive at the Linden Tree Book Store in Los Altos where part of the profits will go directly to Brentwood Academy in honor of Cole.

Please join us on February 11th from (2pm-5pm) at the Linden Tree Book Store to celebrate Cole and support the students at Brentwood Academy.

  Pathways Meeting
Palo Alto Preparatory offers a free monthly support group! This group is open to all parents of adolescents/young adults who a) have their child currently in an out-of-home treatment program (such as a Wilderness Program, Therapeutic Boarding School or Residential Treatment) and b) parents who have had their child in a residential program and their child has graduated/completed the program and has transitioned home successfully.

Many parents have told us about feeling quite alone in this process and would love to have a place to talk about their experience, gain continued skills, knowledge and support! Thus, we provide this free group, to help families continue to thrive! There is a large community of parents who have gone through this very difficult and trying time and we believe, the more support you have, the better.

This group meets on a monthly basis.
