Tzedaka in Action
Back to School
We are currently collecting school supplies to donate to the Morse School so that the students there can start the school year with items that they need. Here are some supplies that would be most appreciated: pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, scissors, pencil boxes, index cards, highlighters, dry erase markers, composition notebooks (including wide rule for the primary grades), and back packs. These items as will as other school supplies can be dropped off in the Morse School carton in the hallway of the social hall.
We will be continuing to collect food for the food pantry at the school. A big "todah rabba" to all who have generously donated canned and packaged food over the summer!
This project is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Social Action Coalition.

from
cRc - Chicago Rabbinical Council:
There are more than 1400 kosher certifying agencies around the world! For a complete list of Kashrus agencies
(which includes both cRc recommended and non-recommended agencies)
visit
Kashrus Magazine Online
(or call 1-718-336-8544). Special thanks to Rabbi Yosef Wikler, editor of Kashrus Magazine.
As a public service, the Chicago Rabbinical Council is presenting a list of common acceptable kosher symbols and their agencies' contact information. The fact that a particular agency does not appear on this list does not imply that the cRc has determined it to be substandard. click for list.
Note:
There are three areas of kashrus that require extra diligence and research even when bearing a recommended kosher symbol. These three areas are: meat, certified for Passover hotels, and cruises.
