PPIE and Parent Clubs Collaborate on Creating Strong Classrooms
PPIE is working closely with our Pleasanton parent clubs (PTA, PTSA and PFC) to develop a working agreement designed to better coordinate our mission and our outreach to the local community.  We have formed a Task Force that is making great progress and we are working with the Superintendent's office to ensure our efforts are aligned.  One key element of the agreement is to make annual PPIE-parent club recommendations to PUSD regarding funding priorities in the classroom.   Please feel free to contact Steve McCoy-Thompson to learn more.
Don't forget to request matching funds by year end!

Measure I1 Passed!
Yes on Measure I1
Pleasanton voters supported Measure I1 during the November election. PPIE is proud to have been a supporter of this effort.

"We are incredibly grateful for the passage of Measure I1.  With your support of Measure I1, we can begin to fund critical improvements and repairs to our schools to create 21st century learning environments that prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow," wrote Superintendent Rick Rubino in a statement to Pleasanton families.
5th Annual Run for Education
The 5th annual Run for Education will be April 23, 2017.  Registration for the run will open soon.  In the meantime, the Run committee is seeking volunteers to join the Sponsorship team.  This is a great way to get involved with a

Reflections Reception at PPIE December 12, 6pm
PPIE is hosting a reception to showcase student art from the Pleasanton PTA Reflections program, honoring all school winners of the Pleasanton Reflections program in the visual arts and photography categories.  After the PTA's Awards Ceremony at the Firehouse on December 7th, non-advancing entries will be displayed at the PPIE office until the artwork will be moved to the library this Spring.  Join us to admire the artwork and spread some holiday cheer.  Sweets and refreshments will be provided by New Leaf Community Markets.
PPIE Innovative Grant Program
For nearly 30 years, PPIE has provided grants to PUSD students and teachers to  support student achievement in all areas.  The Innovative Student Grant application cycle recently closed and winners will be announced in January.

The application for Innovative Education Grants will open in January.  All PUSD educators are eligible to apply for up to $3,000 to fund an innovative project that is student focused, promotes creativity and innovative thinking, offers expanded opportunities for learning and supports Common Core standards, as well as the PUSD Strategic Plan.
We look forward to working with you this school year!
