Culinary Arts 3 & 4
Culinary Arts III & Culinary Arts IV students began the year with a chocolate taste-testing challenge!  They were asked to use their senses to detect secondary flavors found in various pieces of chocolate; then determine what other foods or flavors would be complimentary.  No one complained about this assignment.

Bathrooms Beautified!
This week the girls at HUHS were welcomed back to a different look in a few of our girls bathrooms. After seeing a similar project take place at another school, Alternative Education teacher, Ms. Jamie Piittmann, set out to spruce up some of the bathrooms at HUHS. Ms. Piittmann coordinated all of the efforts and the supplies were all donated by the teachers that painted in an effort to encourage and appreciate the girls at HUHS. Teachers came in the evenings last week to paint and create designs in the women's bathroom across from the main office as well as the one near our Drama/Lecture hall. Thank you HUHS teachers for taking the extra time to make our bathrooms more welcoming!

A 13 yard score to Jacob Pepin put the Orioles ahead 20-14, and his 94-yard strike to Jason Patterson in the fourth quarter was the Orioles' final score and third consecutive in the second half.

BOYS SOCCER

Orioles Best Suns in Battle of Unbeatens
Whenever Hartford Union absolutely needed a boost of momentum, it seemed to get it  Friday. The offense had three big plays and the defense came away with two critical turnovers. When the final whistle blew, Hartford earned a 26-21 road victory against West Bend East in a North Shore Conference game.  The Orioles are 3-0 for the first time since 2008 - the final year under coach Dan Brunner.  The Orioles received the opening kickoff, and offensive coordinator Paul Shelsta was confident his offense could get a quick strike.  The first play was a flea flicker in which quarterback Tristan Bradley - who threw a wobbling  pass - found Jacob Pepin  for a 30-yard gain.  "The first play, we wanted to come out and catch them off guard," Bradley said. "For the next play, from what we saw on film, if we got a good push, we could get a big gain."  On the second play, Richard Smith scored on a 42-yard run to give the visitors an early lead.  "The line opened up a huge  hole and Richard is so fast," Bradley said.

Juniors - CLASS OF 2019
Key dates for the Junior Class of 2019

Seniors - CLASS OF 2018
It's always important to ready your email, but for Seniors it critical as there are many due dates associated with Graduation and Senior Year.  Transcripts, Scholarships and Graduation details are just some of the things to watch for.  Here are some key dates for the Class of 2018!

Senior Photo Deadlines/Requirements
The Deadline for Senior Pictures for the Class of 2018 will be NOVEMBER 1, 2017!

Due to the yearbook being delivered in the Spring, the Senior Picture deadline will be on November 1, 2017. It is important to note that this is much earlier than in years past!

Click here to see the senior photos that have been submitted.

Senior Photo Requirements
  • Senior pictures are due November 1, 2017. Photos not turned in by this deadline will result in a $25.00 fine. Photos received after November 15, WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED in the 2017-18 yearbook
  • Please email one digital file of your photograph to yearbook@huhs.org. It must be at least 2x3 inches at 300dpi. If you cannot send a digital file, we can digitize it, but this will reduce the quality from the original. Please name your file with your last name, _ , then your first name (example: doe_john.jpg). File types can be .jpg or .tiff
  • DO NOT SEND IN a screenshot of your senior picture from your photographer, if at all possible, have your photographer send the photo to prevent losing any quality!
  • Photos must be vertical color prints, with  no pets, no hats, and have a simple background. Dress needs to be school appropriate. Remember, the pictures in our yearbook are small, so ideally the photo should show just the head and shoulders. We want to maximize your face size.
  • Many local photographers have these deadlines and may the send the photo for you if you ask. Please understand that your photographer will need probably 6 weeks or more to get photos done. This means you should have your pictures taken by the middle of September to get them done with enough time to spare.
  • We cannot accept prints from a Laser or inkjet home computer printer.
Any students who do not turn in senior pictures will have their HUHS school picture published in the yearbook.
