Dr. Roland Ziegler from Concordia Theological Seminary will be speaking about the "Contemporary Significance of the Augsburg Confession" on June 23, at 6 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 310 N. niversity Band of Concordia-Chicago will perform its annual Patriotic Pops Concert on Saturday, June 24, on campus at 7400 Augusta, River Forest, Illinois. The event will celebrate community and country with timeless music while honoring service men and women. Concession sales (ice cream, boxed meals and water) open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert is at 6:30, both on the Augusta Street lawn. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. Rain location: Werner Auditorium. CUC Student Piano Camp in August

Students entering grades 5-12 are invited to participate in the “Popular Music for Piano” summer camp at Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. Both morning and afternoon half-day sessions are available during the camp, which runs August 7-11.
Registration closes July 28. Students must be able to play piano proficiently, including basic chords, with three years of previous study recommended.

Part-Time Choir Director, Prince of Peace, Crystal Lake
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake, is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the part-time position of Choir Director. This position includes leading a weekly rehearsal and directing an adult choir that assists with anthems on Sunday mornings and music for special services. They will have the opportunity to work with church leadership in planning worship music and with recruiting vocalist and instrumentalists for anthem music. An accomplished candidate with piano and strong vocal skills is preferred. This position would be for 10-15 hours a week, September through May. The LCMS Lutheran Annual has sent your information form to confirm or update for Synod. Please take care of this promptly.
This is a reminder to especially look at your ROSTER STATUS and district designations. Every year there are several who find they are not listed as they think they should be. If your roster status is wrong (called, candidate or emeritus), it needs to be changed with our district president's office (ordained) or education office (commissioned). Email or call (708-449-3020) to inquire about a change. Despite best efforts, slip-ups can occur. This is your annual verification of the official record Synod has for you, which potentially can affect your creditable years of service, IRS standing or any number of things.
