Networking Group for Moms

A newly formed Bible Study Group for all moms will take place Fridays, beginning September 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 7214 South Cass Avenue, Darien.

Women’s Fellowship Breakfast

Joint Reformation Worship Service
A special Joint Reformation Worship Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 6850 W 159th Street, Tinley Park, September at 3 p.m.

500th Anniversary of the Reformation Event
Christ Lutheran Church, 14700 S. 94th Avenue, Orland Park, is hosting a special 500th Anniversary of the Reformation event on Tuesday, October 10. Renown composer and Lutheran musician Dr. Carl Schalk will make a presentation on his newly published A Lutheran Catechism: Understanding Church Music in the Lutheran Tradition. His presentation will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a Communion Service and luncheon. Participants will receive complimentary copies of his booklet. The event is open to the public. The Reformation at 500: An Interdenominational Conversation
In recognition of the Reformation’s 500th anniversary in 2017, Concordia University Chicago will host “The Reformation at 500: An Interdenominational Conversation” on Monday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Our Lord. Panelists at this free public event will be Cardinal Blase J. Cupich of the Archdiocese of Chicago; Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, president of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod; and Rev. Dr. Philip Ryken, president of Wheaton College (IL). Manya Brachear Pashman, religion correspondent for the Chicago Tribune, will serve as moderator.

NID Retired Church Workers Luncheon
Invitations have been mailed for the NID Retired Workers Luncheon to all retired commissioned and ordained church workers in the LCMS Northern Illinois District. The luncheon will be held Tuesday, October 3, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S Rush, Roselle.

Doxology: Demons and the Ministry of Deliverance

Join Gathering Theological Advisor, Rev. Dr. Joel Lehenbauer, Wednesday October 18, 12 p.m., for a conversation around his paper: Songs of Sinners, Songs of Saints: Songs of a Real and Present God. The paper sets the theological and Biblical focus for the 2019 Gathering theme: Real. NID Parish Nurse Fall Conference
The fall conference will be held Saturday, October 21, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 7214 Cass Avenue, Darien.
The theme, Ministering to an Aging Congregation” will include presentations on estate and health planning, addressing pain, maximizing the ability to stay healthy, accessing community resources, organ and tissue donation, and medication-related concerns.

Registration should be made to Kim Greg or 630-854-9299. Fee is $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Lunch is included. Parish nurses and other nurses would benefit and are welcome to attend.

This activity has been approved by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) as approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours will be awarded for attending the full day.

Family Fun Night

Chicago Choral Artist Concert
