WEAR YOUR POLKA DOTS
ON 9.17!
On Monday, September 17th, students at Park Maitland School will be celebrating our second annual Dot Day! Dot Day is based on the book   The Dot  by Peter H. Reynolds. It's "a story about a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to 'make her mark'”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery, and sharing".

Students will participate in a variety of activities to celebrate their own confidence and courage around our school campus.  To continue the excitement, students may wear polka dot clothing to school on September 17th!   We cannot wait to see how the children will make their mark on the world!
Monday, September 24th, is a student holiday. Enjoy the day!

"Smart Social Media Usage"
Parent Chat with Lori Smith

Thursday, September 20th
8:15 a.m
(Parent Meeting)
9:15 a.m
(5th and 6th grade student meeting)

*Located in the AAC*

Lori W. Smith of Zimmerman, Kiser, & Sutcliffe, P.A., will be here to discuss how youth can use social media in a smart way. She will highlight successes of young teens who have used social media in school, entertainment, and youth related businesses. Ms. Smith will also highlight common social media mistakes.

In today's world of fast-paced and varied technological communication, children and adults are often surprised at the ramifications of hitting that "send" or "post" button without careful consideration. As a result of Ms. Smith's previous presentations, many adolescents seem to be rethinking their social media and communication choices.

We ask that at least one parent of our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students attend this timely and relevant chat. Mrs. Smith will also meet with grade 5 and 6 students following the parent session.

1st and 6th grade Jelly Fudge Friends met for the first time.
K5 students explored authentic art from Panama. Thank you Ms. Parkins for bringing this beautiful basket and her own Mola for us to see!
The 5th Grade "Best Part of Me" projects are still on display in the 5th grade hallway. We love learning what our students love most about themselves!
4th Graders had a blast dressing up as their favorite Roald Dahl characters!
We are so proud of our volleyball teams! Both played hard this weekend for their first games of the season. View their full season schedule HERE . We look forward to cheering on our girls for a GREAT season!

Message from the Security Manager:

We have noticed an increase in the number of parents who are parking around the school and walking their children in during morning arrival.
Please DO NOT park in the businesses around the campus and walk into the school during morning arrival. It is dangerous, it slows down the carpool process, and it is not fair to the parents who are following the rules.

Please continue to be patient and respectful! If you have any questions please feel free to email me at: [email protected] or call (407) 647-3038 x248.

Thanks you in advance for your cooperation, and let’s all work together to ensure the safety of the students, parents, faculty, and staff of the Park Maitland School.
