Join the Parks Party & Kick Off the Trails Challenge
2017 Trails Challenge
Celebrate with us this Saturday, June 3, as we launch the 2017 Sonoma County Trails Challenge on National Trails Day and highlight our 50th anniversary with a fun run and party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ragle Ranch. Explore the park on a scavenger hunt or guided hike and enjoy live music, crafts, games, barbecue, cake and prizes. Joining us are Whole Foods, Fleet Feet, REI, Sonoma County Library, LandPaths, and other friends and partners.

Hike, Bike or Ride: How Far Will You Go?

Get started on the 2017 Sonoma County Trails Challenge and see how far you go this summer. This year's Trails Challenge guidebook offers some new hikes and all new maps. Hike five or more routes and get a Trails Challenge T-shirt!  Explore all the featured parks, and you'll log 50 miles in honor of our 50th anniversary! Remember to share your photos for a chance to win parks memberships and REI trail gear.

Group Hikes of All Types
From sunsets to relaxation to birding, we've got a bunch of themed hikes planned countywide. If  you're taking the Trails Challenge , these group outings all count toward your merits: Nuestros Parques at Ragle Ranch on June 3 ; Sunset Seekers at Crane Creek on June 7 ; Settle Down at Sun Down at Pinnacle Gulch on June 7 Senior Saunter on the West County Trail on June 9 ; and a  Winging it Wednesday  bird walk at Maxwell Farms on June 28 .
Celebrate Tolay's Landscapes and Stewards
Join us Sunday, June 4, as we walk the newly expanded Tolay Lake Regional Park and highlight its cultural history, ecological diversity, and breathtaking views of San Pablo Bay. Hear from local land conservation groups and the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria about the mosaic of partnerships that protected this important landscape.

Hitch a Ride for a Sonoma Mountain Through-Hike
If you've wanted to make the one-way hike from North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park to Jack London State Historic Park or vice versa, the logistics will be easy the weekend of June 10-11. The Sugar-Hood Shuttle is running between the parks those mornings to drop you at the trailhead opposite of where you park. This is an excellent way to experience a segment of the Bay Area Ridge Trail and knock off one of the Trails Challenge's longest hikes

Give Dad a Year of Parks 
Searching for a Father's Day present Dad will really use? You can't go wrong with a year of adventures at Doran Beach, Spring Lake, Taylor Mountain, and other favorite parks. Pick up an annual parks membership for Dad at REI, Oliver's Markets, Whole Foods, and other participating stores, at our Santa Rosa office, and at staffed park entries. 

Jump into Summer at the Spring Lake Water Park
The inflatable playground at the Spring Lake water park is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day. New this year are season passes, boat rentals, and party reservations. To help make the most of your visit, here are some answers to frequently asked questions.

Plan Your Funky Fridays at The Hood
Thanks to everyone who got the  Funky Fridays summer concert series off to a swinging start over Memorial Day weekend. This month's line up features Rose Town Soul and R&B Revue on June 2, Stax City on June 9, Volker Strifler on June 16, Hour of Tower on June 23, and the Funky Dozen on June 30
