Dear Campus Community,

I invite you to participate in the search for the new Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer (VCCFO). This permanent appointment will work with campus stakeholders to enhance the campus’ operations, growth and reputation by helping to address a set of key opportunities and challenges, including championing the implementation and management of effective, efficient, transparent and consistent university-wide budget and accounting processes, among many other related duties

Thanks to the hard work of our Search Advisory Committee members, we have identified three finalists that offer a variety of experience and competencies to support the success of this position.

In order to ensure we are making the best selection, each candidate will be asked to present to members of the campus community via live webinar, responding to the prompt "Tell us how your experience and approach to strategic financial planning has prepared you to assume this leadership opportunity at UC Merced." To provide the most consistent and equitable experience for each candidate, we will also be selecting a series of questions solicited from campus stakeholders. We will not be taking live questions and pre-registration is required. Please register via the links below and submit your questions in advance by emailing POPD@ucmerced.edu

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to meet and evaluate candidates for this critical position. The webinar sessions will last 45 minutes each and are scheduled as follows:

Candidate 1: Thursday, March 11 at 10:15 a.m. | Register
Candidate 2: Friday, March 12 at 9:00 a.m. | Register
Candidate 3: Monday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. | Register

After each candidate visit, we will distribute a survey link to webinar participants to solicit feedback.

Thank you, in advance, for your participation and valuable input.

Sincerely,

Mike McLeod, VCCFO Search Committee Chair
Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer
Physical Operations, Planning and Development
