Partnership Progression
West Union Square is Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority's newest development and it is slated to open in the early summer. West Union Square represents CMHA's Mission by using public/private partnerships to promote neighborhood stability. Colerain Township leadership approached the agency about developing housing in a section of Colerain Township that was characterized by blighted buildings and criminal activity. The area of the township will soon be home to seniors 55 and up who are in need of affordable housing. CMHA is currently accepting pre-applications for the West Union Square wait list opening through March 19, 2018 at 11:59pm. People interested in applying can

Also, the transformation and preservation of affordable housing is moving forward. CMHA felt it was very important to provide residents and staff with the next steps in CMHA's RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration) conversion. A joint meeting with resident council leadership and CMHA management staff was held to ensure all were armed with the correct information. Everyone in attendance received the Preliminary Conversion Plan which outlines the anticipated date of conversion for nearly all Asset Management housing. The plan projects several years into the future and therefore is subject to change. Anyone interested in staying up to date on what is taking place with RAD can
sign-up to receive the RAD Newsletter via email.
Lastly, I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to the Housing Choice Voucher Program staff behind the Real Estate Investment Seminar held in partnership with REIA of Greater Cincinnati. Over a hundred people turned out on a Saturday morning for the premiere event. Please read more about the event in the story below.
